Have I mentioned that I love a good road trip? Because – oooooh – I do. When my two hostel roommates told me that they were driving up to Noosa the same day I was planning to, we deemed it destiny. We decided to ride up together and book an Airbnb.
Let me explain the background behind Noosa. Every Aussie and their mum were telling me to head up to Noosa. So I figured, “If this is where the locals go to vacation in Australia, I gotta check it out.”
Julia, Theodora, and I packed up our things, checked out of the hostel, and said our goodbyes. Yet again, another tough time saying goodbye. I’ll really miss my Coolangatta family.
We joined up with Theo and Julia’s friend Gabriel, and off we went.
I haven’t been sleeping very well lately, so once we hit the road, I fell asleep for a solid hour. I’m usually a much better road trip conversationalist, but eh. We arrived into Noosa by mid-afternoon, and we immediately knew we were going to love it.
Noosa is the perfect balance of beautiful, chic, and chill. Only the Australians can pull that off.
We checked into our Airbnb, dropped off our stuff, and hit the beach. I honestly can never get enough of these perfect Australian beaches. My tan reveals my obsession.
We got back to the Airbnb hot and gross. Fun fact – the Airbnb doesn’t have A/C. When I was in Europe, I asked why Europeans don’t have A/C. They said it’s because it’s only cold about 1 or 2 months out of the year and the buildings are pretty old. That made sense. But in Australia, the buildings are new and it’s HOT ALL THE TIME.
I don’t get it.
So I will be attempting to fall asleep in 87 degrees with a fan and no outside breeze. Yay.
