My Phone Broke … Again.

I had about an hour before I needed to leave my hotel for the airport. I was catching a flight from Budapest to Madrid, and I wanted to make sure I had plenty of time for check-in. I thought to myself, “You know, there’s been that nagging notification about updating my cell phone software. I have time – I’ll update it now!”

Famous last words.

Ten minutes before I needed to leave for the airport, my phone started going through the last stages of the reboot. And then it just went crazy.

The screen turned to a colored static and started punching numbers like a robot gone haywire. Though I wasn’t able to grab a picture of it (because you know, my camera phone was busy being possessed), I found an online thread with a guy who had the same issue.

You never realize how much you desperately use your phone until you can’t use it anymore.

I was a helpless babe.

So I did my best to put on a brave face. I bit my lip and swallowed the panic. I packed away my phone, grabbed my backpack, hailed a cab, and left for the airport.

After I made it through security, I opened up my laptop and contacted my cell phone support. Unfortunately, they couldn’t help. Shocker.

My best bet was to just wait until tomorrow when I’m in Madrid and can find a cell phone repair shop.

From the article threads that I’ve been reading, it sounds like it’s going to be pricy. I have no idea what’s under warranty since my paperwork is packed away back in Dallas.

So for the folks keeping track at home, let’s have a recap of my week:

• I got bed bugs
• I had to move hotels because they overbooked
• I accidentally bought stolen Sziget tickets
• I went to file a refund of said tickets, and they said the time range of a refund had expired.
• My phone randomly broke

Good times. Hahahaha …

I’m two steps away from a mental breakdown.
