I Want to Go Home

Home

Here’s a shocking revelation that I’ve recently had in the past few weeks:

I’m ready to go home.

Weird, right? I’m living the dream as I travel the world and experience amazing things. But to be honest, it’s all starting to feel like too much. I’ve always been exhausted on this trip (that’s definitely nothing new), but I’m now starting to get to the very bottom of my energy tank. I want to sleep longer than normal, I get winded quicker than normal, and I’ve lost all motivation to get out and explore.

It’s time for me to go home.

Well, technically it’s not time for me to go home yet, but my flight to DFW is getting closer. And though I’ve loved my time in South Korea (and my time with my best friend), I can’t help but count the days until I’m back in Texas.

This song hits a little too close to home …

But alas, I’m still here in South Korea, and I’m going to push through. Because truly, I love this culture. I just wish I could understand the language better at all. That would be super helpful.

Emily and I spent the day being lazy butts. There’s one or two English movie channels on her TV, so we watched parts of Shawshank Redemption (top 10 favorite movies), Titanic, and The Hobbit series. I also took care of some things like 1) checked on my tax return 2) got approved for my rental car insurance claim 3) reserved a storage unit for when I’m back in Dallas 4) browsed more apartments in Dallas and etc.

Since we couldn’t be bothered to leave the apartment, we ordered fried chicken to be delivered (apparently South Korea is known for their fried chicken). And it was quite tasty! I was surprised. But what I’d give for my mom’s fried chicken and mashed potatoes …

Annnnnnd that was my day. Totally thrilling, am I right??
